The Mfantsipim Foundation, previously known as Mfantsipim old boys association (MOBA UK and Ireland) is registered under charity number 1042983. The affairs and administration of the Foundation are regulated by the Charity Commissioners for England and Wales.

Mfantsipim School Cape Coast was the first secondary school to be established in the Gold Coast, now Ghana. Mfantsipim was established in 1876 by Methodist missionaries who were purposed to educate boys in the formative years, age 11 to 18. Since its establishment Mfantsipim Schools has played a direct role in the training of leading lights in Ghanaian Public Life and also in International circles. Men such as Alex Quaison Sackey former President of the UN General assembly, K A Busia the first Prime Minister of Ghana, Ibn Chambas Executive Secretary, Ecowas and Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations were all educated at Mfantsipim School in the formative years, not to mention the numerous domestically and internationally acclaimed, teachers, lecturers, doctors, lawyers, architects, engineers, bankers accountants, administrators and businessmen who have been educated at Mfantsipim School.

The Mfantsipim Foundation was constituted in 2006 with the mandate to lay a framework which would create and advance a broadly based education at Mfantsipim School, to enable students to compete equally with the very best, in a global world, irrespective of any peculiar disadvantage. To achieve this goal the foundation intends to equip the school with highly qualified tutors, administrators, and the necessary information technology tools and scientific equipments.

The immediate objectives of the foundation are:

• (a) To employ the unrivalled power of philanthropy to change the lives of students at Mfantsipim school by seeking and providing gifts for education.
• (b) to help create a congenial environment where students can be nurtured to explore, discover and exploit their innate gifting and abilities for the benefit of all and to become exemplary and outstanding leaders by promoting the ideals of integrity,perseverance, self confidence, tolerance and good physical health.
• (c) To provide a platform for the exchange of ideas ,experiences and knowledge base with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures in Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas through partnerships with like minded educational institutions and grant making bodies.
• (d) To promote the cause, and offer the opportunity of a broad based education to gifted and talented boys who would otherwise be denied.
